PAC seemed to have Orange Cassidy dazed after a big clothesline but Orange put his hands in his pockets and suddenly hulked up.
Notice Chuck Taylor giving PAC the finger in the background. Cassidy was accompanied to the ring by The Best Friends, Chuck and Trent. Jim Cornette likes to refer to them as "The Ambiguously Gay Duo."
Orange ducked a clothesline and hit PAC with a huge Superman Punch and stunner.
Cassidy scaled the top rope but PAC crotched him.
PAC looked to set up Cassidy for a tombstone off the top, but Orange spun out into a DDT.
Orange seemed to be on the verge of victory when the Lucha Brothers ran out and attacked The Best Friends.
The distraction gave PAC an opening to lock in his crossface/armbar finisher for the victory. Cassidy gave up right away but PAC wouldn't let go until he passed out.
I really enjoyed this match. This was Cassidy's first match on AEW TV and he passed with flying colors. If you want to watch the full match, minus the entrances, you can see it here. It may be taken down soon, so enjoy it while you can.
I wish the Orange Cassidy character was a bit less comedic and well developed but clearly he is over with the AEW crowd. It will interesting to see where he goes from here. PAC also gave a sharp performance and has a bright future.
Clearly the wrestlers have more creative freedom in AEW than in the WWE. That's not always a good thing, but at least AEW seems more receptive to giving the fans what they want.
