Sixth Year Anniversary

The truth of the matter is I've just been hanging on these last few months. I'm not overly happy in my personal life and I haven't been too motivated to blog either. Nonetheless, I will look back at some of my favorite videos that I've covered over the years. 88Wrestling Cody Everett vs Rex Bedford: Ultimate Upset? Cody seemed to have all the tools to become a superstar, but it wasn't to be... A short run is better than no run though and this is my favorite of his matches. Credit to Ethan Andrews as well for having numerous memorable matches. His matches against Dash, Tanner, Jett and Matt Miller particularly stand out to me. Wrestler4Hire Ace Owens vs Ronnie Pearl: Knocked Out To me, Ace Owens is an ideal babyface. When he's wearing this outfit his appeal goes up even higher. Then he gets squashed by pro heel Ronnie and this match becomes a classic. Now that 88W is inactive, Wrestler4Hire is my go-to for underground wrestling action. But there's a situation...

A Study in Color Correction #2

Like the previous post, the original photos are first followed by my edits. Out of the examples below, I would say Cody vs Rex was my least effective. Cason vs Joey King: Rough & Ready 113 (Thunders) Guido Genatto vs Kirk Donahue (BG East) Cody Everett vs Rex Bedford (88Wrestling) Chris Cox vs Max Powers (Rock Hard Wrestling) Red Redemption vs JC Extreme (UKWH)

Joey King chokes out Cason (Thunders Arena)

Cason vs Joey King: Rough & Ready 117 (Thunders Arena) Lately, I've been reflecting on wrestlers who haven't been around for a while. Joey King is another one who comes to mind. Joey always put on a good show, especially when he was crushing rookies like Cason. Credit to Cason too, for selling the sleeper perfectly. If you want to see Cason take a beating, you'll enjoy this match. See my original review here.

Joey King crabs Scrappy (Thunders Arena)

Joey King vs Scrappy - Custom Video Series 61 (Thunders Arena) I must admit, I was initially drawn in to this video because Scrappy wrestled in street clothes but this was actually a really good squash, both guys played their roles perfectly. I may have been a little too reserved in my initial review. Boston Crab fans in particular will enjoy this match as the hold applied 3 different times. Some people will say the last version is a Scorpion Deathlock / Sharpshooter but lets be real, that's just a variation of the Boston Crab. By the way, who's the wrestler who taught Bret Hart how to apply the Sharpshooter?  I'll give you a clue. "Orale, arriba la raza!"
