Screencap Recap #71

Dirty D vs Travis Maverick (Weekend Wrestling) Jake Mason vs Tanner Hill (88W) DJ Beckham Jr vs Travis (Wrestler4Hire) My song of the week is Message in a Bottle performed live in Paris by Sting and his band in 2017. I highly recommend checking out this concert, they're in top form here. "Walked out this morning, I don't believe what I saw Hundred billion bottles washed up on the shore Seems I'm not alone at being alone Hundred billion castaways, looking for a home"

MuscleBeast vs Aaron Mark: XTREME shot @theringprivate7 (Wrestlingmale) Wrestlingmale boss Etienne Erik is calling for fans to nominate Wrestlingmale and its performers for the Prowler European Porn Awards, known as The Grabbys. Travis vs DJ Beckham Jr : Gut Punch (W4H, 2020)

Cocky jock Travis (Maverick) gets taught a lesson by DJ in this video from Wrestler4Hire. The tension between the two wrestlers is obvious from the start. DJ promises to teach Travis "the lesson of his life." Travis responds, "What can you teach me? How to drop out of high school?" DJ drives Travis into the corner and claws his abs.     DJ maintains the pressure, never letting Travis fight back for long.  Within a few minutes, it's clear Travis' ripped abs are the target. Most of the last half of the match has Travis trapped in the corner as DJ pounds at his abs. While this part of the match was mostly well done, it did get a bit repetitive for me personally. Usually, I leave more of a gap between posts on the same wrestler but I thought it would be interesting to compare the Wrestler4Hire video to the Weekend Wrestling video. Both companies presented Travis almost the same way. I liked that WW gave Travis knee pads and wrist tape, so I'd give them th

Photo of the Day / Mr. Mike's Surgery

Loki vs Cason: Vegas Battle 103 (Thunders Arena) I haven't watched it in full yet, but Loki vs Cason is on my watch list and I'll look to review it in the next couple weeks. Mr. Mike, the boss at Thunders Arena, is having major surgery soon and is looking to the fans to help cover the expenses.  If you're interested, the options start at $50, which includes a bonus match between Duke (aka Ryan Sparks) vs Dom9, deemed too hot to be released publicly. You can find out more here:  https://shop.thundersarena.com/products/save-mr-mike-surgery-donation

Can you guess who this is? He'll be featured in my next review post.

Photo of the Day / How Can You Miss Me, If I Don't Go Away

Chris Cox vs Travis Storm (Rock Hard Wrestling) - All Rock Hard Wrestling videos are 25% off through March 27, 2021. It should be obvious from the title, that I'm not in the best frame of mind at the moment. I know I'm supposed to be blogging for myself but it does annoy me how little interaction I get from blog viewers. (No, I'm not talking about people asking me to trade videos!) Consider my last blog post: Only one person wished me well via email, out the hundreds of people around the world who view my blog. There are plenty of other blog posts where I looked for some feedback or interaction and got nothing in return.  I just want to remind people that I don't have to keep up this blog.   If bringing this up makes me a "bitch" or a "pussy", so be it! I'm just being true to myself.

W.R. the Pirate / Random Thoughts on Pro Wrestling and More

On March 3rd, I had surgery on my left eye. There was a cyst that was growing and the doctor was concerned that it might be malignant. I didn't mean to look so sad here but I probably was feeling sorry for myself.   As of now, I don't know the results of the testing but my cyst was fully removed. Yesterday, I had my stitches removed. If you look closely at my eye you can see where the stitches were. I will return to work next week and it will be back to business as usual. But in case the surgery wasn't successful, I could've taken on a pirate gimmick like Jean-Pierre Lafitte (pictured below). Pierre Carl Oulette is legitimately blind in his right eye but he's been a successful pro wrestler for over 30 years. I've been binging on podcasts to help me through the last couple weeks. Two in particular stand out: The 6:05 Superpodcast and John Arezzi's Pro Wrestling Spotlight - Then and Now . Both podcasts are hosted by Brian Last, a wrestling historian with an

Tanner Hill vs Jake Mason (88W, 2019)

Tanner breaks in rookie Jake in this video from 88 Wrestling.     When the video opens, Tanner asks why Jake came to the 88W ring. "Did you come to get your ass kicked?" "I came here to kick ass.", replies Jake. Jake scores the first takedown but Tanner goes on to dominate for a while.  Jake fights back whenever he can.  But Tanner controls Jake with bearhugs and other back torture.   Jake is resilient though, and makes a comeback late in the match. Can Jake squeeze his way to victory? I must admit, I didn't have the highest expectations for this match, but I actually found it really enjoyable.  Tanner showed he can carry a match and he really likes dominating the rookies. Perhaps Tanner could use this more aggressive style against tougher opponents like Ethan and Dash.  Jake isn't the best rookie 88W has brought in but he's cute and did a fine job, so I wouldn't mind seeing him again. *This video is on sale until March 12, 2021.
