Dr. Maniacal vs White Wolf: Hero Hunks (W4H) Will Stanley & Jason Kane vs Brodie Fisher & Austin Cooper (RHW) Brian Pillman & Tom Zenk vs The Midnight Express As a tribute to Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, my song of week is Jumpin' Jack Flash, performed live in 1968.

The Midnight Express Dominate Brian Pillman & Tom Zenk (Recap & Video): Part 3

Brian Pillman had been isolated from his partner Tom Zenk for the majority of the match. Brian showed his toughness, enduring cheating and double team attacks from The Midnight Express. We pick up to see Bobby Eaton climbing to the top rope. Brian stops Bobby with punches to the gut but Bobby counters with a palm thrust to the eyes. Bobby slams Brian in the center of the ring and then climbs to the top rope to deliver his finisher, "The Alabama Jam" legdrop.   The announcers think Brian is finished but he kicks out yet again. Bobby shoots Brian to the ropes for a tilt-a-whirl slam but Brian spins out and slams Bobby.  "What a great move by Pillman," exclaims Jim Ross. "Raw strength and determination there. This kid has got guts."  Brian finally has the opening to tag in Tom Zenk. Tom comes in the proverbial "house on fire", decking both Midnights with punches. Tom sends Bobby flying with a backdrop. The Midnight Express Dominate Brian Pillman (Recap & Video): Part 2

Brian Pillman had just taken 3 minutes of double team punishment from The Midnight Express. Brian was just thrown out of the ring and was struggling to climb back in when Stan snatched Brian and threw him head first into the steel barricade. Stan eventually pulls Brian back into the ring and shoots him into the ropes for a backdrop. Brian shows his tenacity by countering with a sunset flip. Bobby Eaton distracts the referee while Brian has Stan pinned for a three count. The referee eventually counts but Stan kicks out. Stan tags in Bobby who stops Brian from tagging in Tom Zenk. Bobby slams Brian and then goes to the top rope for an elbow drop. Bobby jumps a bit too far and lands hip first on Brian's face. Bobby goes for the pin but Brian kicks out.    Bobby attempts several more pins but Brian keeps powering out. Tom Zenk tries to pump the crowd up on the apron. Stan tags in and slams Brian but then tags Bobby back in. Bobby tries to pin Brian but Brian kicks out yet again. S...

The Midnight Express Dominate Brian Pillman (Recap & Video): Part 1

Pretty boy "Flyin" Brian Pillman takes a beating from The Midnight Express in this match from WCW Capital Combat 1990. Brian and his partner "Z-Man" Tom Zenk are defending their WCW U.S. Tag Team Titles against The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane). Jim Cornette, the manager of the Midnights, is locked in a shark cage, so any advantage he can provide is neutralized.   I pick up a few minutes in. Brian had just charged at Bobby Eaton but Bobby ducked and Pillman flew over the top rope to the floor. Bobby applies a swinging neck breaker, which leaves Brian dazed.   Brian manages to climb back to the apron, but Stan Lane knees Brian in the ribs, sending him chest and throat first into the steel barricade. Brian's gasping for air but manages to make it back into the ring. Stan snaps Brian's neck across the top rope and then folds him up with a big clothesline. Stan and Bobby apply one of their their signature double team moves, the rolling neck snap...
