Brian Krause in Sleepwalkers (Revised with Video)

Brian Krause plays Charles Brady. On the surface he seems like a sweet, sensitive, young guy but he's actually a shape-shifter known as a "Sleepwalker". He needs to suck the life force out of pure, young Tanya (Madchen Amick) as a means to feed himself and his mother (Alice Krige), whom he has an incestual relationship with. 

 

The story is ambitious but not well executed, the main appeal of this movie for me lies in the attractive actors and their chemistry.

Charles lures Tanya in with some kisses and then tries to suck the life force out of her. Tanya fights back by whacking him with a nearby camera. Is Charles dead? Can Tanya escape? You'll have to watch or Google it.

*Epilogue- Obviously, I wanted to like this movie. It's watchable but not essential viewing, in my opinion. I think the shifts in tone are too jarring. 

 

At times, there's sweet and tender moments. Then there's gory violence, but it's too cartoonish to be scary. The script tries to elicit sympathy for the Sleepwalkers but they're not sympathetic characters.
