Travis Storm vs Chris Cox (RHW, 2011)

Blond beauty Travis Storm faces lanky stud Chris in this video from Rock Hard Wrestling.   In a slight twist to the familiar trope, the video begins with Travis Storm lifting dumbbells, then he stops to pose in the mirror. Chris is waiting in the corner wearing a leather jacket and shades. Travis comes in and starts off with a lot of energy. Several gut shots have Chris doubled over in pain. Chris manages to stop Travis and takes some gut shots of his own. Chris tortures Travis with 2 long Camel Clutches and a Full Nelson. Do Chris' skills trump Travis' muscles? Honestly, this isn't a classic match but there are some great moments and if you like the guys it's worth checking out.  All of the Rock Hard videos from Catalog 6 to 8 have been re-released in 1080p HD. If you missed out on RHW during this era, now's a good time to catch up. The difference in video quality is definitely noticeable.

Blake Starr vs Ethan Andrews (88W, 2020)

Blake Starr's ripped abs are relentlessly battered in his debut match for 88 Wrestling.   The video begins in typical 88W fashion. Blake's checking himself out in the mirror and getting a pump with a resistance band. Ethan comes in and wants to get on with the wrestling match but Blake's too wrapped up in posing, so Ethan attacks him. Blake dramatically kicks his legs almost every time he takes a gut shot. It seems like Ethan's been taking some pro wrestling training, as he incorporated more strikes into his offense. Blake's not completely squashed. But the video is called Abs olute Destruction for a reason. Blake showed a little more grit and wrestling know-how than he has previously but he was still no match for Ethan. Ethan's the top heel at 88W for now but can anyone challenge him in 2021?  Whatever the case, it's good to see 88 Wrestling back up and running.

RedJay's Demise (Hard Heroes, 2019)

Superhero RedJay (Carter Jones) is thoroughly dominated and humiliated by Dark Lord (Dimitri Darkthorn) in this video from Hard Heroes. The video begins with RedJay searching for Dark Lord. Ominous music plays in the background similar to the tune used during General Zod's trial in Superman . Dark Lord's booming voice and cackling laughter is heard in the background but RedJay can't find him.   Suddenly, Dark Lord appears. RedJay says, "You can't defeat me." Dark Lord snatches RedJay in a sleeper and yells, "I already have!" RedJay offers some resistance at first, but his power fades as Dark Lord strips him of his magic garments. RedJay really sells the pain and desperation as his defeat becomes inevitable. I really enjoyed this video, both guys gave great performances and I was especially impressed by RedJay's vulnerability. To my knowledge, this is the only underground wrestling video Carter Jones has done. If anyone has more info on Carter fee...

Cute Cricketers

It's cricket season here in Australia, so I've decide to feature some of my favorite cricketers. The sport of baseball evolved from cricket, so the games aren't that different. I personally prefer cricket over baseball. If a batsman is good enough, he can play a full innings. Test match cricket is too daunting for the uninitiated but 20/20 cricket (limited overs) is a good starting point. Those matches are usually quicker and more exciting than baseball, I think. Stuart Broad (England) The action of bowling is pretty dramatic. The bowlers run at in and use their full body to launch the ball. George Garton (Sussex, England) Ben Stokes (England) Ben Stokes celebrates getting a wicket. Adam Zampa appeals unsuccessfully for a wicket. (SA, Australia) Jhye Richardson (Australia)   Will Pucovski (Australia) Cricket balls are very hard, so all that padding is necessary to protect the batsman. Injuries from being struck by balls are still common.
