Photo of the Day / State of the Blog

Red Redemption and T-World have played a big part in my blog over the last month. It's been fun being an investigative journalist over the last few weeks. I have to thank Red Redemption for getting the ball rolling. He was the one who suggested I should do interviews in the first place. I'm pretty happy with how my series of interviews went. It seems to have gone over well too. I have some ideas for more interview subjects, but nothing is imminent. I know I've been spinning my wheels and relying a lot on my archive of photos lately, but I'm going to make more of an effort to look at matches I haven't covered yet. Just don't expect me to go into too much detail! (Not that I ever have.) A while back I teased a fantasy match between Reno Gold and Jonathan. I have a finish in mind but I'm not sure how to start it. Maybe I should get around to doing it. Before I go, I'd like to recommend a new underground wrestling blog - Clinches and Quandaries It's al

An Interview with T-World - Part 3

In Part 2, T-World spoke about his various opponents as he climbed the ladder at the UK Wrestling Hub. There's still a little more ground to cover before we begin winding down. --------- You got to wrestle underground veteran Kayden Keller (who I interviewed just recently). What was it like wrestling someone you probably watched as a fan? The overseas guests meant I did indeed get to meet Kayden. They say don't meet your heroes. I didn't realise they meant because they will piledrive you. Was a great match regardless and I'd more than love to face him again. We've both changed our physiques so much over the years that it would be awesome for more. T-World vs Kayden Keller - UKWH #132 Are there any other matches or wrestlers that stand out to you that haven't been mentioned yet? Whilst I've been mainly with UK Hub I've also got to meet up with a ton of others across the country and the world. One of my most enjoyable was Dimitri. I faced him in my early

An Interview with T-World - Part 2

In Part 1 of our interview, T-World spoke about how he became a pro and underground wrestling fan and whether he’d be interested in becoming a pro wrestler. We pick up looking at T-World's ascent at the UK Wrestling Hub. --------- Your first few matches at the UK Wrestling Hub were a bit rough on you. You took some beatdowns from EC Extreme. I imagine those experiences helped you grow as a wrestler. The rise of the champion is a tale as old as time. It's almost a rite of passage that your first few matches should be beatings. It's like anything you want to succeed at in this world, you have to build trust, skills and experience to earn your place. Let's also face it, people like seeing a pretty boy get beaten up and I fitted that bill perfectly. Learning techniques, showmanship and that each wrestler has different energy, strengths and weaknesses, that's the real skill to learn. T-World vs EC Extreme - UKWH #03 As the months progressed, you bulked up and became t

An Interview with T-World - Part 1

It's my honour and privilege to interview the current reigning UK Wrestling Hub Grand Champion, T-World (aka Tim World).  Hi Tim, I hope you're well. Thanks for the opportunity. It's an honour to be interviewed about something I enjoy so much. It's become customary for me to ask, how did you become a pro wrestling fan and who were your favourites growing up? I'm definitely a kid of the 90s and 00s. Wcw WWF (yes I'm that old) and the growth of the smaller (now bigger) organisations like RoH. It became a tradition with family to watch most weekends. Like most, I was a fan of Austin, The Rock, Mankind, Undertaker and impressive skills like Mysterio and showing height didn't mean you can't defeat giants. Specific favourites though, I honestly did not have. It was the stories and fun that the characters bought to the ring that I loved. All I need to hear is that voice of Vince "it was me Austin. It was me all along" and I'm transported bac

Bobby Horton racks Jonny Firestorm (BG East)

Bobby Horton vs Jonny Firestorm - BG's Bad Boys 2 One of my all time favorite BG East matches is currently part of their end of summer sale. If you haven't seen it, it's well worth checking out. Both wrestlers are in their prime and at their best.
