Johnny Depp in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) - Mega Post

Here's a selection of screenshots from both the Blu Ray and VHS version of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

To sum it up quickly, Freddy Kruger is killing the children of the people who burned him alive in their dreams. If you stay awake, you stay alive. Unfortunately, we all need to sleep.

Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) calls Glen (Johnny Depp) and stresses that he needs to stay awake. The idea is that Nancy wants to go sleep and trap Freddy in the dream world and take him into the real world. Once Freddy is in the real world, he'll be powerless and open to defeat. Glen reluctantly agrees to go along with it.

Glen tries to keep himself awake with music and TV.

Of course, Glen dozes off. Glen's mother comes in for a short chat. It's been a while since I've seen the movie but I think the gist is the mother wants Glen to stay away from Nancy and Glen goes along with it.

Nancy tries to call Glen again but his father answers and takes the phone off the receiver, leaving Glen at the mercy of Freddy.
