R.I.P. Terry Funk

Terry Funk attacks Ric Flair, Wrestle War '89. To pay tribute to Terry Funk, who passed away yesterday, I've decided to analyze this classic angle which took place at NWA/WCW Wrestle War '89. Ric Flair had been a bad guy for years at this point, but he indicated a face turn by paying tribute to Ricky Steamboat, who he'd just beaten for the NWA title. Suddenly, Terry Funk comes into the ring. (Terry was a ringside judge who could be called upon if the Flair/Steamboat match had gone to a draw.) "Hey Ric. I wanna be the first to congratulate you on being the new World's Champion." Jim Ross, who was interviewing Flair, tried to brush Terry off but Funk wasn't finished yet. Terry tells Ric, "If it had gone the hour, I would've voted for you because you're the greatest wrestler in the world today." Jim Ross and Ric both thank Terry and try to carry on with the interview but Terry still isn't finished. Terry pulls the microphone toward...

The Truth About My Life

My local beach, August 2023. I started this blog because I wanted to share my passion for underground wrestling and other fetishes. The truth is I don't have anyone around me to share these things with. I don't have any gay friends in real life... And I never have. At this rate, maybe I never will. At least I have this platform, so I've made a few virtual acquaintances. It still seems like most people are reluctant to interact with me.  Yes, I'd prefer to be the bad guy in pro wrestling, but that doesn't mean I'm a bad guy in real life.

I made a couple changes to the color scheme on the blog, so it should be a lot better now. Please check it out, if you haven't yet.

An Interview with Red Redemption (UKWH) - Part 2

In Part 1, Red Redemption spoke about his origin as a pro and underground wrestling fan and his emergence at the UK Wrestling Hub. We pick up from here. _____________ You had a falling out with T- World, which led to 4 matches (singles and multi-man). How did it feel winning the UKWH Championship from him?  HE STARTED IT!! It felt so so good, so validating. I'd always dreamed of holding a championship, and you never forget your first. I feel like T-World's personal Karma. He got away with so much for so long, until he met me. Red clearly enjoys punishing T-World. - Match #38 Do you consider T-World your biggest rival at UKWH? Do you want another shot at him now that he's champion again?  Absolutely. He always brings out a different side to me. I feel like our chemistry in the ring just flows so well. Hopefully he's a nicer champion on his second go, and cleans the belt this time around. Red wants another title shot. I must admit, I was a bit skeptical when you turned he...

An Interview with Red Redemption (UKWH) - Part 1

Red Redemption as UKWH Grand Champion - Match #104 Hi, Red. I hope you are well.  Hello!! Let's go back to the very beginning. How did you get into pro wrestling? Who were your favourites when you were becoming a fan?  I was bought up on it, was born about 5 weeks before the Undertaker's debut, so it was always on. I had a goldfish called Ultimate Warrior and a hamster called the Big Boss Man. My favourites were Lita and the Hardy Boyz. Lita is probably my biggest inspiration. Team Xtreme - The Hardy Boyz & Lita When did you realize that you were turned on by pro wrestling? Was there a particular match or moment that stands out?  I know that I liked the guys, but took me a while to realise why. I always resonated with the female superstars, always wanted to watch them more than the others as I enjoyed watching them try and be equal.  Turn-on, probably Randy Orton, and then I found the internet, PWP was my first, then BGEast. Randy Orton, circa 2003  A...
